Dayton Weekly News - Visual Voices Art To Indianapolis Collection

The 2010 Visual Voices Art Exhibit opened at the EboNia Gallery in Dayton's Wright-Dunbar Business District in January prior to its February run at the Schuster Center sponsored by the Victoria Theatre Association.
The visual voices exhibit by twenty one local African American artists closed April 2nd at the Dayton Power and Light Headquarters.
Local artist Lois Fortson had her Visual Voices exhibit entry purchased by the Mills African American art collection in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her entry titled: "Beauty Shop" is a clay portrait and is the second clay portrait purchased by the Mills collection this year.
Willis Bing Davis, Curator, of the Visual Voices exhibit series states: "Lois Fortson is one of the Visual Voices artists that has shown outstanding growth and artistic development over the past six years of the Visual Voices project. To have her art purchased for the Mills African American art collection in Indianapolis is a tribute to her commitment to her craft."
